My cupboards have limit space, and with all the Buffalo China Diner-ware that I have, there is sadly no more room for plates. I’ll have to curtail my vintage plate shopping. As well as shopping for cool vintage drinking glasses. Well… to be honest, my small cabin is probably at it’s limit for vintage goodies, lest I want to become a nutty packrat… which I don’t.

If you like these plates, I have them for sale on my Retro Cookbook Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35409898&ref=em (if that link doesn’t work, try the main shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/retrocookbook)

(My girlfriend seemed to think it was an odd purchase at first, but I think she warmed up to them.) I’m not sure what they are supposed to be… carrots? or Perhaps parsnips? Whatever they are, they are very cool!

This week my big finds were mostly vintage plates, and only two cookbooks. I’ve been looking for a set of Buffalo China Green Crest dinner plates to go with my other Buffalo China Green Crest smaller plates, bowls & cups, but have yet to find any. Monday I found a knock-off made by Sterling China. Similar to the BC crest, yet its own design. I ended up with six 10″ dinner plates and 6 coffee mugs. A great score! The other great score was a second vintage A. Sabella plate for my collection.

(I also bought this plate on ebay, making that my third plate and 2nd in two days.)

I also got a vintage Dazey Seal-a-Meal, unused, in it’s box. The 70′s packaging design alone is worth the $5 I spent on it! (Photos to come)

And while I showed great restraint in looking at vintage cookbooks, I did buy “For Variety Cook With Soup” by H.J. Heinz Co., (date unknown) and a “Mirro-matic Pressure Pan” recipe & directions booklet from 1958. Again, photos to follow, at some point.

If anyone has any A. Sabella plates like the one above, and you want to sell them… contact me!
