The Leader In The Kitchen

Feb 1st, 2010 by admin | 3

This vintage Morton’s Salt piece is what I assume to be for a point of purchase display in a store and is printed on a thin cardboard.  Date is unknown and the only detail on this piece is what you see in the image. Great illustration of vegetables marching behind the “band leader” container of Morton’s Salt.

I don’t see the Morton Salt Girl on there anywhere. I wonder if this predates her creation as the company logo?

The girl is actually in the “armpit” of the bandleader. Looking at the Morton History it looks like this could be from around the late 1930’s or early 1940’s. The girl has apparently been around since 1914.
