Cookbook for Young Moderns

Nov 12th, 2009 by admin | 4

cookbook for young modernsCookbook for Young Moderns - Recipes by Mary Lee Taylor was published in 1957 by PET Milk Co.  As the title implies, it is a cookbook geared toward the younger crowd, and the recipes show that.  There are a lot of recipes for sweet beverages, cakes, cookies, frostings, pies, and desserts, but it also has main dishes and one vegetable dish.  The main dishes have simple dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, hot dogs, mac & cheese, and the veggie side dish is mashed potatoes.  Recipes that can use PET Instant Milk, do… of course.

This is a cool little cookbook-let with a great cover illustration, and nice spot illustrations and food photos inside.  The recipes actually look fairly good and are probably a great start for a “young modern”.
